Yule marks the lowest point of the year in terms of light. The Winter Solstice takes place between December 20 and 23 in Nordic Hemisphere. It's a time when we reach the longest night and the shortest day with Winter Solstice, and, paradoxically, after that, the journey towards the light begins. Yule or Yuletide is a pagan festival routed from the countries of Northern Europe and Germany. The tradition of decorating a spruce tree that is quite common nowadays has pagan roots like many other traditions that were borrowed from the Old religion into Christianity.
